When I first learned the quadratic formula my teacher did not tell me where the formula came from. She just gave us the formula and told us to do the problems. I have never been a fan of the quadratic formula because the numbers did not make sense to me. However, the other day in class Mr.Jackson showed us how to complete the square to get the quadratic formula and now I finally know where the formula came from. I can now appreciate the quadratic formula fully and I wish they would have showed us where it came from in the beginning.
